Serol stood from the assembly and made his way over to the seat that both Arik and Lurrin had recently sat in. His face was devoid of readable emotions, but to those who knew the cleric well, one could tell his temper was already flairing.
How dare these -men- pass judgement on any of them. Serol was acting in Kossuth's name and he would not allow the judgement of a man, even a king, or a king's advisor besmirch the relationship he had with the Firelord.
His face was slightly flushed and his eyes were almost shining as they danced with anger just under the surface.
"I am Serol Kinspar, Wandering Flame the Firelord Kossuth." He had been deprived of his weapon, the chain he had not taken from his hip since he was given it in the temple of Boetrah. He had been denied his spell components, the way to channel his God's power in Toril. His voice already showed traces of the large man's anger in it at this farce.
But so be it... for now.

"It is an honor to have one of your rank here today, Wandering Flame Kinspar. I am told you are the equivalent of an Eternal Flame. I am familiar with the Firelord's teachings, though I am not a devout member of the faith, by any means. Could you please state for the Court what your involvement in this matter was? I am most interested to understand what involvement the Kossuthans have in this matter," Goodwest began.

Serol nodded slightly at the small complement. "I am the Wandering Flame. In this cappasity I serve the Firelord by coordenating the Burning Braziers of all Lantan. While the Eternal Flames see to the Tendrils, I see to the Braziers. In the eyes of the people, and perhaps fellow Kossuthians, I am equal to an Eternal Flame. Though one can only strive to be the greatest servent to the Firelord that one can. It is in his eyes alone that one can be judged equal to or not equal to another of the Followers of the Flame."
"As to my involvement, I can speak to actions, but I will not speak to motives. Those are between a man and his god after all."

"I have found that in determining an agressor or wrongdoer, it is often very useful to have a motivation, but actions will suffice, Wandering Flame. In truth, it may be a relief. This has already turned into an emotional situation. Explain to me what actions you have taken in this matter, and that should sufficiently explain your involvement. I think it is easy enough to determine the motivations of the Kossuthans in having you involved in this matter," Goodwest explained and requested.

As the cleric spoke he tried to keep the contempt from his voice. These were men of power and possition yet here they sat bickoring instead of acting in people's interests.
The church of Kossuth gained a fair number of its followers from the poor, he had been one of them. Here sat men with money and power enough to improve those conditions and yet they sat arguing fine points so one could be scolded. It was very nearly enough to set his temper over the edge.
"I fear I will be forced to sit here a very long time, unless you have a specific question." Idly he wondered how long it would take him to recite his lifes story. He immagined if he were motivated, he could stretch it out for several days. He had much practice in sermonizing after all.

"Alright...please explain to me your involvement with the Drachen warehouse situation...your actions, Wandering Flame. Then proceed to tell me about your actions in Illul, and your opinion of Lord Lurrin Drachen and the information he provided you and the Pretens."

"Very well." He said, "On the night of the incident at the warehouse. I arrived at the graveyard where I watched from a distance as some strange haunting took place shortly there after. After the guards and caretaker had fled, I approached the warehouse and opened the door. Almost instantly the warehouse exploaded. Afterwards I gathered myself up from the explosion, called upon the powers of Kossuth to heal those injured and left."
"After riding day and night we arrived in Illul with the belief that several warehouses were in danger. I left to investigate these warehouses and learned that the prisioner there" he pointed to Highbringer, "was about to lead a group of mercenaries in an attack upon the very warehouses we feared might come under attack. I was amoung those who went about in an effort to capture this man and stop the attacks. In this, we were successful as no attacks occured."
"My opinion of Lord Lurrin Drachen or the information he provided is not an action and leads to modivation. I will refrain from answering the final question."

"That is fine, but know that you leave me to assume that you believed the information to be reliable enough to act on. Your interpretations of the events would be helpful in passing fair judgment here today...but it is your decision whether to cooperate in that particular regard. Do you have any response to this, Wandering Flame Kinspar? Or anything else that you feel relevant to this situation that I should know of?" Goodwest asked as he sat the pen he was writing with down.

"It is my belief my Lord, the only true judgement can be passed by one's god. You mentioned that you knew of the Firelord's teachings but were not one of the faithful, for this I will pray for you."
"You may pass any judgement you like on my actions or answers today, but the Fugue plane is a lonely place to be without someone to speak for you. That is the judgment that counts more than any a man could make. I pray you find guidance today in more than just the words of men, men whom it would seem, are modivated to disagree."
"When one has faith, judgements of this nature become more clear. It was in this faith that I trusted, and Lord Kolendur" He used Arik's true title as he had learned it.
"One is never beyond saving if one's heart is true in its desire to be saved. Should you wish to ask me questions of my actions I will give you the answers required, but my motivations were in faith. Faith that Jonathan Preten is an honest and just man, who cares for familly and charge. Faith that the men who would flock to his banner would do so for propper reasons and not just the blindness of money, power or possition. But most of all faith that, should actions be required I can shut my eyes every night and know that should they never again open I will be at the right hand of my god forever."
"Should you wish it, I can give you this great gift. It is the greatest gift of all. I give it freely to you, all you need do is ask, listen, judge and accept and it can be yours."

Goodwest's expression did not change. "It is obvious that we have attained what information we can from you, and I believe that you have explained to me your actions and perceptions appropriately. Due to my station and this hearing, any further religious discussion is impossible to indulge I'm afraid, Wandering Flame,
"Lord Drachen, do you have any contentions with this testimony?"
"No," the elder Drachen responded, "I do not, Lord Goodwest."
"You are dismissed, Wandering Flame Serol Kinspar of Boetrah."
When Serol was seated, the next man was called. "I am to speak next to Mage Jervis Dench of Boetrah."

Jervis was looking forward to this. It looked like a lot of fun to get up there and answer questions. He felt like he had a lot to say.
The little gnome almost skipped his way to the stand. However, getting into it seemed a much greater challange. It took him several minutes to climb into the seat. Rigor Mortis was perched upon his shoulder with a deathgrip upon the little gnome's shoulder as he climbed his way into the seat.
"Yippie, our turn." is all Jervis said.

"Please identify yourself for the Court," Richard Goodwest ordered the Gnome.
When the Gnome was finished, Goodwest began his questioning. "Please explain to the Court your involvement in this matter, Mage Dench."

Jervis stifled a yawn when Lord Goodwest asked him to identify himself. He hoped it wouldn't all be as boring as "What is your name? What did you do the night of... blah blah blah" "We are Jervis. Why did you ask for us, then when we came, asked us who we are?" He cocked his head curiously, he had never been to a court before, let alone a human court. Gnomes would never endure anything this boring. "Is it for the stupid people?" He wondered if there were people listening who couldn't understand when a name was called and someone answered that person's name -was- the name that was called. "Should I speak slower?.... Or louder?"
The little gnome was not being insincere. He really didn't understand the formality or why it might be necessary. He was willing to speak slower if it would help stupid people understand his educational talk he planned on giving.

Goodwest seemed very patient with the Gnome and his...eccentrisities...
"Mage Dench, we merely ask for your name as a formality and to verify that you were present when called. I don't believe anyone here will require you to speak more slowly. Now, please identify yourself just for formality's sake, Mage Dench. Then we will proceed to the questioning."
Goodwest repeated his question again and awaited the Gnome's account of the events that had transpired.
