(((Works for me...though I believe Jervis needs 8 hours of rest to prep new spells. Keep that in mind for future shifts...won't matter much at the moment. Figure a three hour shift first, then a two and a half hour shift for each group after that, eh?))) Jack and Arik sat quietly where the group had made camp a reasonable distance away from the road. The sun began to rise as Jack and Arik's shift came to an end, and tiredly the two men awoke Thorgar and Lurrin for theirs. It was only an hour later that chaos erupted. Without warning, there in the middle of the road appeared a man who had not been there before. the sun had only been up for a short time. As Lurrin looked toward the mysterious traveler that had not been there a moment before, he tried to determine who...or rather what the creature was. As Thorgar looked at it, he knew instantly. Not sixty feet away from him stood an evil being...a Devil. (((Okay boys...we need some initiative. I'm uploading the map right now. Thread will be called: The Devil Himself. I'll take some Knowledge checks from those with the appropriate skill to determine something a little more concrete if you like. Send them to me via PM.)))

(((BTW...the following special circumstances apply: Jack, Arik, Jervis and Serol are asleep. Thorgar and Lurrin are the only ones awake. I randomly placed you all on the map. I hope you can figure out the key...lol You'll need to wake up the others to get them ready for this combat. Also, some of you will be going it without armor if you have anything heavier than Light armor. Got it, boys? Now...let's party. )))

Already asleep and not wanting to wake up Arelian slowly reacts to the situation at hand. 1d20+3=5

Intuitive vs. the devil (1d20-1=16) Woot!! Almost as quickly as the man appeared the Dwarf was on his feet. "GET About Yur'selves you Lot We Have Company!" roared the Preist. Holding his warhammer in front of him, Thorgar muttered the words to a prayer for divine aid. ((I'll Cast Spititual Hammer then Elation))

(( Heheheh 1d20+6=25 )) His pose stiffened as he saw the being standing in front of him. His right leg stepped in front while he unsheathed his trusted falchion and placed him leveled at shoulder weight. Finnally, some action...

OOC:Damn... you do a full days work and you miss out on the chance to voice your opinnion.
Two things, Denny.
1: As I will be traveling at night and sleeping during the day. I would have liked to have ask to sleep in my armor. The note spoke specificly of trouble at Featherdale. And because of the time shift he would have been fatigued either way.
Your call of course, *curses his inability to send a message during the bulk of the afternoon*
Additionally, he would have requested the watch that was right after sunrise. He would have prayed and then stood his watch. Only makes sense. May not work for this battle, but I would like it to be in effect for future encounters on the "Day/Night flip thing"

((OOC: same question as Bill about armor...I know there is no way in hell I would have slept without near Featherale, but Im totally cool with whatever you want to do...either way, I need someone to roll initiative for me) Arik had never faced such a being, but was no stranger to the stories told about them. Grabbing his sword and shield, the acolyte called upon the awesome powers of the Gentle Lady and stood resplendent in a blinding light which shaped itself as Fullplate armor. ((I have cast Luminous Armor and intend to cast Divine Favor in successive rounds...I will fight and cast defensively if the fiend attacks...someone cast Elation )

Init (1d20+2=16)Serol was quick to waken as well, as the sleep during the daylight hours had been difficult to start with. In only a few moments he is standing with his chain at the ready. (OOC) Movement action to stand up. As I have a +1 or better BAB I'm drawing my weapon as part of the stated movement action.

While the preist may have had trouble sleeping in the daylight (with his armor?) the little gnome seemed to have no such trouble. He was deeply sleeping when the alarm was raised causing much confusion early on. Jervis Init (1d20+3=5)

Serol will cast Bless on the party this round and likely divine favor the next. I just wanted my chain out for its nasty AoOness!

((YAY! Thanks Keli, and by thanks I mean, WTFMATE! =P You better cast Elation to make up for it))
That makes my initiative 6 since I have no modifier.
