lol...see...I think you've taken the alignments to the extreme, just a bit. lol
I generally try not to play to the stereotypical Lawful. I always thought of Lawful, particularly Lawful Neutral, as more of a desire for order in one's life and having it together. Whereas a Chaotic character wouldn't mind flying by the seat of his pants. I think to often we view those two extremes as Organized Government v. Anarchy. lol I think that issue is just one of many. Of course, I always think of alignment as more personal, rather than societal. But...that's just me...
For instance...I don't play the Neutral character who is Neutral for the sake of balancing Good/Evil and Law/Chaos...but anyway...I digress when really I should be headed home. See you boys later...

oh, Im not an alignment nazi... I agree entirely that alignment is more of an internal director/indicator then it is an external one... often times, our external actions are the results of internal directors but not always... alignment is a guide not a rule

Okay, here's a question:
Does anyone know if 3.5 rangers can wield double weapons as their two weapon fighting abilities? In 3.0 (the only one I own), it says that they can't.
But the Ranger class was really overhauled in 3.5. The SRD doesn't make any mention of the restriction. But I don't want to assume.
If there is a restriction on double weapons still. Does anyone know of a decent Martial or Simple weapon that does say 1d8 (medium) and 1d6 (light), or even 1d6/1d6?

Well...to answer your questions...
First, I don't remember the restriction from 3.0...but in 3.5 you're just granted the Two-Weapon Fighting feat. When you read the Two-Weapon Fighting description in the combat section, it says to just treat double weapons (which are fought with in such a fashion) as wielding two weapons with the latter being a light weapon...which is essentially the same as the Ranger who wields a Longsword in his main hand and a Shortsword in his offhand.
As for decent combos...the classic is always a good one, even if overdone. I personally like the battleaxe/throwing axe combo...your crit range ain't that great with the throwing axe, but in a bind you can chuck it at someone who's got a little reach on you or is just starting to run away and get ahead. Meanwhile, the throwing axe is treated as a handaxe for combat purposes until you decide to chuck it.
Anyway...just read the weapon descriptions for dual weapons...they usually adequately explain what needs to be done to use them best...or give you the restrictions for TWF, if any.

If I can use double weapons the ONLY weapon to consider for a Druid/Ranger is the Quarterstaff. Throw a Shileligh (sp) on that badboy (1st level spell) becomes a +1 weapon doing 1d10... that's 1d10/1d10 dual wielding. Wait a few levels and throw on Bramble onto it or Staffspell.... you're looking at one AMAZING stick!!!

I'm about 95% sure on this one...in truth...if you hadn't brought it up as a concern...I'd never have thought anything of it. In fact, I might have done something similar myself one day. I'd swear that's the case...but...I'll give a 5% chance that I'm wrong on this one...
