(((NP...I'll have to look it up...but there's a bonus for low-light in moonlight. It's at least +2, but I wanna say +5, actually.)))

Jervis watchs his fellows dismount. He looks about not really minding the idea that should it come to blows he would have the higher ground.
Still he realized he didn't know much about fighting from horseback so he too dismounts. He pulls out his crossbow and grabs the staff that had been sitting behind his saddle. He watched Jack go blend into the shadows and tries to do the same on the other side of the road. Hopefully if he attacked, it would be with some surprise.

Serol tests his mace from within the loop on his belt. It seemed it was free should he need to pull it. Glancing to Kessen he asks, "My eyes see three. Do yours see more?" He knew in this light... well any light really... the elf had an advantage. He wasn't overly worried about three. But ten or more could quickly get out of hand.
He pauses a moment, "What of your dog? He looks a fine breed but pups are impulsive I would hate to see him become dinner for a goblin because he hasn't learned to heel. Should you leash him?"

"Lets see what there about before we attack." he keeps his eyes trainned on the enemies as he continues to move forward.
(Are they still moving towards us?)

Kesson eyes Liad and shakes his head, "No. I will not take that precaution unless he proves to be a burden but until then he will be free."

The elf takes his focus off the goblins long enough to reach down and rub Liad behinds the ears.

(((Jervis and Arelian should either post or PM a Hide check...or, if you'd rather, I can make those as well. Adds an element of surprise, but isn't necessarily required like most Spot and Listen checks.)))
They continue to move towards you.
Unless you do something or hale them...they will continue to move towards you until they are 100 feet away from you. At which point they seem startled.
(((Let me know if you plan on doing anything other than waiting. Then I'll tell you what they're up to.)))
Kesson can see that it is definitely three Goblins. They don't appear to be up to much of anything, and they have not noticed your presence on the road. They seem oblivious in conversation.

"Excuse me? Can you tell me which way to Sundrah?" Kesson calls out.

(((10+7=17...all you need right now...)))
At Kesson's call, the Goblins stop dead in their tracks. (((1d10 x 10 feet after the 200 feet...total...110 feet away...))) They are 110 feet ahead of you now. They appear very startled. They don't appear to be able to see you very well, or at least they can't make out who or what you are.
"No common!" one of them shouts. "No common!"

(OOC:) I'm really hoping that he waited until they were at the 100' mark.
Serol, is annoyed to let their presance be known so eaily, but he can't spare a look to the elf. Instead he levels his crossbow to the closest Goblin and says, "Stay where you are, if you value your hides. Make no sound or the next will be that of you gasping for air through a throat with a crossbow bolt through it."
(Prepares to fire: if they do anything but stop or approach slowly. If they yell for help, he'll fire. If they run, he'll fire. If they draw weapons or begin to cast. He'll target that one and fire.)

When Serol shouts, they've fully stopped. They appear very shaken to Kesson...Serol can now make out that they're small humanoids...though their speech obviously sets them apart as Goblins. "No Common! No Common! No Common!" He repeats this three times then waits in silence.
