Jervis watches from the side of the road, he had seen many goblins before and this wasn't making much sense. He knew for a fact that goblins could see better than himself in the dark. The moon was out, but that shouldn't bother them much.
They should not be struggling to see them unless it was strictly a distance issue. He dared not move closer into their frame of vision where he might be seen more clearly.
The little gnome will keep to the shadows and get a little closer, these were funny acting goblins indeed. He wondered what languages they did speak, but if they didn't understand common, he doubted he could communicate much with them regardless of which tongue he tried. Better to keep his concelment and wait, this way he might get more than one shot.
Still the little gnome kept his sharp ears open only wishing he had spent more time in practice decerning the different sounds of danger. Now all he could do was listen, wait and hope.

Serol looks very put out by the goblin's continual claim they don't speak common. He glanced over to the elf briefly as if to ask, "can you talk to them?"
He then leveled his crossbow at the one in front. He remembered the Woman telling him that the goblins that had helped kidnap the Lord and his daughter didn't speak common. That, and the fact they were goblins kept his finger heavy on the trigger.
He was inches away from shoting first and asking questions later.

(OOC) I'm short and have a light crossbow with a range of 80. I'd like to close to about 30 or so. That way if they move (20 like me) I'll still be able to get off a second shot before ditching it for melee if it comes to that.

(((Okay...sounds good.)))
Arelian arrives into his position 30 feet from the Goblins. They don't appear to notice him, and he can now see them decently in the moonlight. They appear panicked, but also despaired. All had weapons, but none were drawn.
Jervis slowly makes his way into position as well. Of course, he can't see Arelian at all, nor can Arelian see him. Though knowing the stealthy Rogue, it was probably no problem for him to get this close. Here in the moonlight, Jervis can see the Goblins as bright as day. They are very worried...and startled by someone else's presence on the road. But they remain still. They begin speaking quickly and quietly to one another. But other than that, they take no actions.

Kesson shakes his head at Serol, "Nah, I don't speak any languages they would know." the elf starts to move forward and click several times as he does, "Heel Liad." as he gets close he calls out in Elven, "Raise your hands where we can see them." he repeats in common.

The Goblins seem to recognize the Elven tongue, even if they don't appear to understand it. Upon hearing this, they take off in the opposite direction down the road.
