Serol looks confused, "Master Gnome," he says more than a little annoyed he had not stoped as they spoke, "it was my understanding you had furthered your research. I have seen you taking notes... and samples with my own eyes. Do goblins not agree with your field of study?" He had seen the gnome fire upon goblins, though he could only recall watching him kill one.

"You've proven yourself valuable Jervis...and while I can sympasize with your reasearching goal...I assumed they may of been carrying something that could point us toward our goal. It was nothing intentional on my part." Arelian said with an cocked eyebrow. "Clearly none of us...are used to the method you conduct your research..."

Kesson puts two and two together and realizes what the squable is about, "Master Gnome, would you let this go if we give you first crack at all deceased we come across or cause?" he looks to Jack and nods.

Jervis shook his head to the cleric's question and said, "My studies are in the moment of the soul's departure. It is what my thesis is to be written upon. He had assured me when we started adventuring that I would be allowed to make any notes I wished before anyone disturebed the bodies. That deal, evidently has changed, so too will my agreement to continue." The little gnome is fuming and unresponsive to the shouted explination of the thief before he mounted his horse.

"I don't think the other two are dead yet...I only touched the one that was dead without a doubt." Arelian said.

Jervis pulled his pony to a halt. He turned around and answered the elf. "I have no desire to leave. If there is anything like what Lord Pretan has described I could have the research paper of the decade. However if I can not get to the dead before they are moved or otherwise desecrated all that will be for nothing. I had only two conditions in joining from the start. I only wish to see those upheld."

Serol looked more confused than anything. He didn't know anything about the gnome's conditions or how they might have been violated. But he had stopped riding away, that was at least progress.

"Very well Jervis. Barring the exception that one of our lives hang in the balance I will not touch anything that falls to us."
"Besides...the sooner we get moving...the sooner you can test your thesis on more of the buggers...isn't there supposed to be a cave full of them?" Arelian said looking to kesson or Serol for support.

Jervis took a deep breath and sat in his saddle. He looked around him to see himself surrounded by each of the men he had grown to call friends. After a moment of internal debate Jervis nods and says, "Agreed. I am not interested in anything on the corpse after my research is done. You may loot until your heart's desire. If you would like, tonight I can try and explain to you the chemical and spiritual ramifications to disturbing a dead or dying body without the propper precautions. While it might make little difference to the soul on the way to the afterlife the process is disturbed like a rock thrown into a pond. If I were to examine afterwards instead of a crystal pool I see ripples upon ripples that makes the research useless."
